The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) has been approached by over 1,100 small businesses regarding contracts with Viewble Media Pty Limited and The Shoppers Network Australia for advertising content. Both Viewble Media and the Shoppers Network are now in liquidation, however, ASBFEO is continuing to work with the finance providers towards a resolution. We also continue to work closely with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

If your business has been impacted by this, we encourage you to make contact with our office on info@asbfeo.gov.au or phone 1300 650 460.

The ASBFEO is aware of other businesses with similar business models that are still active in this space and warns small businesses to be extremely cautious of any 'no cost' or 'cost neutral' in-store or online advertising packages.

It is very important that small business owners are fully aware of what they are signing up to. If a sales pitch sounds too good to be true, small business owners should examine the companies, the contracts and what they are being offered very closely - especially if there is a finance contract involved.
