ASBFEO search for Australia’s best dispute resolution specialists

The office of the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) is today launching a nationwide campaign to identify the country’s premier dispute resolution specialists to work with the ASBFEO in helping keep small businesses involved in business conflicts, out of the courts.

The campaign seeks to bring together the very best commercial specialists in the field, with the aim of compiling an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider list for small businesses to utilise, when seeking a way forward in business-to-business disagreements.

“One of the key services we provide is assistance for small businesses who may be involved in an argument with clients, other businesses or even government agencies,” Ms Carnell said.

“Part of this centres around facilitating access to external alternative dispute resolution – or ADR – services to try and help ensure small businesses can avoid the costly court system, where let’s face it, the only real winners are the lawyers.

“We are now in the process of compiling a list of affordable ADR providers.  The list – which will clearly outline price structures ensuring cost transparency – will then be shared with small businesses who have come to us seeking assistance.

“Our team will help match small businesses with ADR providers featured on the list, in the hope of resolving their dispute quickly so they can get on with what they do best; running their small business.

“So if you’re a qualified ADR specialist with the relevant experience to conduct small business ADR processes, we’d like to hear from you.

“To be considered for inclusion on the list, simply visit the website to complete an application form.  Our office will then be in touch as we move through the vetting process,” she said.

Please note that we are no longer looking for Dispute Resolution Specialists, due to the large number of applicants we recently received.
